My Captive Journey

Sources and method

How we label what we show you.

Draft for review. This page is not final until Steve Tunstall has approved the exact wording.

Our rules

  • No figure appears unless it comes from your own answers, or has a named source and a date.
  • Facts about cells and the rules around them sit on one page, "Captive Types". Each has named sources, and we check them every quarter.
  • A proposal is never described as law.
  • The workbooks in the pack hold none of our figures. Every input starts empty.

Your score

Your score is out of 100. It is built from your answers, using fixed points that we set and review. Some answers can hold your score at a ceiling. When that happens, we say so on your result, with the reason. A few questions never change your score: the lines of cover you buy, where your head office is, how much of your risk is in the United States, which type of captive you lean towards, and how much you expect to grow. The first three shape our notes on where to set up a captive. The other two are recorded so that we can talk them through with you.

These are the sources behind the facts on the "Captive Types" page.
