What this is

A tool that helps an organisation see whether it is ready for a captive (its own insurance company, or a cell inside a shared one), or how well an existing captive is working. It gives a score, and a paid pack of questions, workbooks and documents.

What this is not

It is not legal or tax advice, and it is not an actuarial opinion. Steve Tunstall is not a lawyer. Where we raise a rule or a regulator's proposal, it is a question to ask, not a statement of what the law is. We do not promise any saving. We do not recommend any insurer, provider or place in the free score. The score is a starting point for a conversation.

Independence

Paid only by the buyer. No money from insurers, brokers, captive managers or regulators.

If we recommend providers or domiciles in paid work, we say how we are paid by third parties, if at all, and whether we have any other interest.

Who can buy

• Organisations only. Buying needs a verified work email. Personal email addresses are not accepted for purchase.
• Brokers may use the free score. They may not buy the paid pack. When you buy you confirm that you are not acting for a broker.

Prices and payment

• Readiness Diagnostic & Captive Pack: USD 4,888.
• Bespoke Captive Package: from USD 11,888. The fee is agreed in writing before work starts.
• Captive Director: USD 25,000 a year. Enquiry only. See below.
• All prices are in US dollars. We are not registered for GST, so none is charged.
• Pay by card through Stripe Checkout, or ask for an invoice with 14-day terms. Work starts when payment is received.

Refunds and credit

• 24-hour refund, only if your pack has not been released. You can ask for a full refund within 24 hours of paying, as long as we have not yet released your pack. We refund what you were charged.
• Once your pack is released, there is no refund, even if 24 hours have not passed. After 24 hours there is no refund either.
• If you go on to a Bespoke Captive Package, the full amount you paid for the pack is credited against it. If you then take the Captive Director role, the full amount you paid for the pack or the Bespoke Captive Package is credited against it.

Your pack

Each pack is generated from your answers and our templates, then reviewed and released by Steve Tunstall, normally within 2 business days of payment. The Excel workbooks and Word documents are yours to edit and use on your own letterhead.

The Captive Director role

This is an enquiry-only service, for a fully owned captive. Steve Tunstall may earn a director fee from a captive he helped set up. The price is USD 25,000 a year. The minimum term is about three years, paid yearly in advance, starting after the licence is granted. You may add Steve Tunstall to your own directors and officers cover: we prefer that, but it is not required. We confirm every detail in our reply to your enquiry before anything is agreed.

Limits on our liability

Our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the fee you paid for it.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction.
